Tevaram Padal Petra Sthalam
This temple is the 25th Devaram Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam in the Chozha Nadu – Cauvery North Bank region. Saints Thirugnana Sambandar and Thirunavukkarasar (Appar) have sung in praise of the Lord here.

Legend of the Temple
According to legend, Goddess Parvati once requested Lord Shiva in Mount Kailash to marry her again and bless her. Lord Shiva agreed but did not specify the place or time. Over time, due to a slight lapse in devotion, the Goddess was cursed to be born as a cow on Earth.
She wandered to various sacred places, worshipping Lord Shiva for relief from the curse. One day, while offering milk, Lord Shiva appeared in the sacrificial fire pit during Sage Bharatha Maharishi’s Yagna and married her at Thirumanancheri in the divine form of Kalyanasundarar.
Unique Features
Lord Shiva appears here in a wedding posture with Goddess Parvati, a rare sight among Shiva temples. The deity is Swayambhu Murthy (self-manifested). Special place for remedies related to marriage delays, separation, Rahu Dosha, and child blessings.
